The National Stock Exchange has extended trading timings in equity and equity derivatives segments by 55 minutes. The move would be effective from this Friday (December 18, 2009). Trading in these segments will commence from 9.00 am onwards, instead of the present timing of 9.55 am onwards.
Consequently, the continuous trading session in both segments will be from 9.00 a.m. to 3.30 pm on all business days. There will be no change in timings of any other session in both the segments.
The extension in market timings comes after the market regulator, SEBI, gave its nod for increase in trade timings so that Indian markets are more in sync with international markets.
